Obituary of Stanley Slogeris

CHESHIRE - Stanley J. Slogeris, 79 of Plantsville and formerly of Cheshire passed away October 3, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband and best friend of Jacqueline (Barbieri) Slogeris.

Stan was born Sept 14, 1938 in Waterbury, the son of the late Stanley and Eva (Yurkunas) Slogeris.  He was a former member of the CT National Guard and a Chief Engineer for Airpax and Microtech before his retirement in 2004. After retirement he worked as a Funeral Assistant at Alderson Funeral Home. Stan’s hobbies included recreational shooting at the rifle range and piloting small aircraft but what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. 

Besides his wife he leaves his children, Scott Slogeris and Donna (Slogeris) Vezina; his stepchildren, Robert Brouillard and his wife Suszan of Wolcott, Janice (Brouillard) Young and her husband Geoffrey of Plantsville and Jeanna (Brouillard) Knapp and her husband Brian of Hudson, NH who were blessed to have him in their lives. Stan also leaves six grandchildren CJ, Jamie, Brianna, Cody, Brandy and John who will all miss his kindness and devotion to them.  He also leaves a brother, William Slogeris of Ohio, and two sisters Elaine Schreier of North Carolina and Lois Marti of Suffield. 

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Monday October 9, 2017 with the funeral procession leaving the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire at 9:15 and proceeding to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am.  Entombment will follow in Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum in Waterbury.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Veteran’s Fund, Hartford Healthcare at Home, Atten:  Karen Pagliaro, 1290 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 4B, Wethersfield, CT  06109.  Make checks payable to Hartford Healthcare at Home.
