Obituary of Julie A. Recchia

WATERTOWN- Julie A. Recchia 68, of Watertown, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Julie was born on September 11,1949 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Bronisalus and Marian Souris.

She married the love of her life, Salvatore Recchia "Sal" on May 21, 1980.  The couple settled in Watertown in the early 1970's, where they raised  three children; Patrick, Kenneth and Leonard.

Mrs. Recchia was a dedicated and hard worker.  She worked for many years at Rite Aid as a manager before her retirement.

Julie also known as "Dimples" to many and was a devoted and loving mother, a wonderful wife and friend.  She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a "Grammy" to her 13 grandchildren.  Julie loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.  She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. Anyone who knew Julie knew how much she loved, owls, Elvis Presley, playing cards and going to the casino. The greatest joys to her were her children and grandchildren. 

She was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mrs. Recchia is survived by two sons Leonard and his wife Stacey Recchia of Watertown, and Kenneth and his wife Maureen Healey of Torrington; grandchildren Kayla, Tyler, Julia, Reese, Anthony, Alyssa, John,  Joshua, Giuliana, Lucas, Logan, Noah, and Isabella; Also her,  great-grandchildren Savannah, Chesney, and Ella. She was predeceased by her son Patrick Healey, and her sister Carol Lee.

Arrangements- A funeral service for Julie will be held 11 A.M, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave, 06704. Calling hours will be held the morning of the funeral from 9:30 A.M until the service begins at 11 A.M. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
