Obituary of Leonard H. Welin

WALLINGFORD- Leonard Helge Welin, 91, passed away, November 15, 2017 at Skyview Health Center in Wallingford. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Lou Welin in 2013 after 55 years of marriage.

Mr. Welin was born April 6, 1926 in Schenectady, NY son of the late John Helge and Maude (Jaques) Welin.

Leonard was a veteran of the United States Navy which he served in during World War II. He was an Engineer at Cuno Manufacturing prior to his retirement. Mr. Welin was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church Choir, volunteered for countless elections, and his free time was an avid Hunter and Fishermen. In his later years he enjoyed traveling and target pistol shooting.

He is survived by his two sons Greg and his wife Amy Welin of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Jeffrey and his wife Beth Welin of Magnolia, MA; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Leonard was predeceased by his daughter Susan Mack, and sister Blanch Welin.

Arrangements- A funeral service for Mr. Welin will be held at 11 A.M, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 65 North Main St, Wallingford, 06492. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial of Leonard’s ashes will follow after the service in the church memorial garden. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations in Leonard’s name can be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
