Obituary of Barbara A. DeLauro

Barbara A. DeLauro, age 72, of Cheshire passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.  She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph DeLauro.  Mrs. DeLauro was born on June 7, 1945 in New Jersey, daughter of the late Howard W. and Edith S. (Covert) Frost. 

She attended Rutgers University, and went on to work in the insurance industry for over 35 years.  Barbara enjoyed floral arranging, genealogy research, decorative painting, needlework, dog obedience training and spending time with family and friends.

She is the beloved mother of Warren Gurske and Frank DeLauro of Cheshire.  She is also survived by her cherished grandson, Vincent DeLauro; her brother and sister-in-law, H. Gardner and Mary Ann Frost; and her nephew, Christopher Frost.  She was predeceased by her son, Louis R. Gurske. 

Funeral Services for Barbara will be private and at the convenience of her family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the “Closer to Free Fund”, Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale Cancer Center, P.O.
