Obituary of Luanne Joan Gibson

WATERBURY - Luanne Joan (Van Nostrand) Gibson, 76, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital.  She was predeceased by her husband Richard Allen Gibson who passed in 2009.

Mrs. Gibson was born December 1, 1941 in the Bronx, the daughter of the late Milton J. and Dorothy L. (Franklin) Van Nostrand.  Luanne retired as an Executive Secretary from Union Carbide in Danbury.  Some of her favorite things included her love of music, especially Elvis and Neil Diamond.  She had a great fondness of movies, and she had an extensive DVD collection.  Luanne’s favorite activity was probably spending time on her computer.  She especially enjoyed making cards and calendars for family and friends.    She enjoyed baking for and spending evenings out with her family.

She is survived by her son David Allen Gibson and granddaughter Julia Denise Gibson of MA.  She is also survived by David’s girlfriend Renee Wheeler and her children David and Samantha.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 7:30 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St.  Visitation will be held from 5:30 pm until the start of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Health at Home, 27 Siemon Company Dr., Watertown, CT 06795.
