Obituary of Robert H. Hyland

CHESHIRE - Robert H. Hyland (Bob) , 88, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Elim Park Place in Cheshire.  He was the husband of Elizabeth (Mannello) Hyland.

Bob was born September 11, 1929, in Waterbury, a son of the late Michael and Wilhelmina (Nuhn) Hyland.  He was a Korean War Veteran who served in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, Bob was a Transmission Supervisor for Southern New England Telephone for 35 years.  In 1963 Bob and Elizabeth moved to Cheshire after he built his current home.  Bob and his wife were founding parishioners at Epiphany Church and are currently members of St. Bridget of Sweden.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, Bob is survived by his sons, Robert, and his wife Annette of Wallingford, and Christopher, and his wife, Karen of Woodstock, and his daughter, Allysia Nanfito of Wolcott. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Patrick, Rachael, Victoria, Ariana, and Sebastian.  Bob is predeceased by his siblings John, William, Alice, Mary, Madeline, Fred, Frank and Joe.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Rd, Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church starting at 9:30. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. There are no calling hours and The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, is assisting with the arrangements.  No flowers please.
