Obituary of Ronald Eugene Westrich

Ronald Eugene “Ron” Westrich, age 76, of Cheshire entered into rest on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.  He was the devoted husband of Patricia “Pat” (Morrison) Westrich for over 50 years.  Ron was born on October 25, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL, son of the late Enos and Blanche (Goalby) Westrich, and was a New Jersey resident before coming to Cheshire with his family in 1981.

Ron served his country with honor and pride with the US Army, and later worked in sales and management for a subsidiary of Alcoa and various aluminum suppliers.  He was a communicant of St. Thomas Becket Church and enjoyed summers in Maine with his family.  Ron was renowned for his sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, Pat of Cheshire, he is survived by his loving children, Kevin Westrich and his wife, Julianne of Fairport, NY and Elizabeth Billy and her husband, Randall of Southbridge, VA; and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Katherine, Meredith, Claire and Elise.  Ron also leaves his siblings, Theodore Westrich and his wife, Nannette of Belford, NJ, Robert Westrich and his wife, Suzanne of Jefferson, ME, and Arlene Robinson of Jefferson, ME; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Harry Robinson.

Friends may greet Ron’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 9:30AM until 11:15AM.  His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:15AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12PM in St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 No. Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire.  Full Military Honors will follow at church.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at www.svdpusa.org   To leave online condolences or to share a story of Ron, please visit www.fordfh.com
