Dorothy, Kevin, and Brian, Please accept the condolences of Naugatuck's Troop 106 Alumni Group. Joe was an eternal "Scout" and lived by the "Scout Oath" and "Motto" ... When I heard that Joey Knowles passed away on Friday, I was very sad indeed. I knew Joey through his close friend Johnny McNamara. The McNamaras were neighbors of ours when our family lived on Hoadley Street in Naugatuck, CT. Joey was a warm and friendly person and very easy to talk to. He was very intelligent and used to help me with my homework, which I so appreciated. He was like a big brother and our friendship was one I will cherish. I wish to express my deepest condolences to the Knowles family at this very difficult time, especially his mom, Mrs. Dorothy Knowles. I know her heart must be broken to lose such a fine son. My thoughts are with his brothers Brian and Kevin and Joey's sons Edward and Sean (who lost their mom last September and now must say good-bye to their dad as well...so sad). I know the pain they must be feeling all too well. Joey was very outgoing and giving of his time and energy without expecting anything in return. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew him for sure.
