I throughly enjoyed knowing Ches for the many years he worked with me at the State of Ct. He had such a wonderful way to take complicated medical information and tie it together to produce a succinct diagnostic evaluation. He then, would recommend a treatment plan that made concrete sense. His innate sense of humor, friendship and
generous personality are his lasting legacies.

I consider it a privilege to have met Dr. Bob during the production of a new venture, the Cheshirepedia. Our lively group held 2 plant sales in the front yard of his home and afterward were treated to some of his finest cooking in the back yard garden designed and maintained by his charming wife, Jeanne. My sincere condolences to her and her family.

So saddened to learn of your loss and so admired Robert. He was such a valued volunteer when we had tours of our historic home. He was in the room with information on my father"s side of our ancestors and through additional research I think he knew more than my generation did. He seemed to enter everything with enthusiasm and we loved his sharp wit and sense of humor. Jeanne and Robert were a great couple and contributed much to Cheshire. We look forward to her continued involvement.

I only met Bob a handful of times, since he and Nancy Dolin found us all during their genealogy research. We met first at a 99th birthday party in 2003 and I saw him again at his Mom's 100th birthday. He drove down to NJ to attend my 80th in 2008 Despite the fact that our meetings were few, I loved and admired him and considered him a dear and long lost relative. We did keep in touch on line, as he did with so many cousins. He was kind, brilliant, and funny. Thanks largely to him, we kept finding more relatives through the years.
I know your sorrow is immeasurable, as he was an extraordinary person. I share it in some small measure. I will never forget him. His life was a gift.

When I think on this dear man, this honorary Irishman, I will recall "when Irish eyes are smiling, sure they steal your heart away." And, indeed they always did. My sincerest condolences, he was among the best of men.

There will be a giant hole in our hearts every trivia Tuesday, especially when a question comes that would have hit his sweet spots, all the whole waiting for a final round answer calling for “the organ of Zuckerkandl”. RIP Dr. Bob.
