Obituary of Deolinda F. Oliveira

SEMINOLE, FL.- Mrs. Deolinda F.(Alipio) Oliveira, 87, of Seminole, Fl., passed away Tuesday morning Oct. 9,2018 at her home. She was the wife of Antonio Oliveira.

Mrs. Oliveira was born in Newark, N.J., July 31, 1931, a daughter of the late Manuel and Isabel (Barbosa) Alipio and had been a resident of Florida for the past 17 years, moving there from Naugatuck. While a resident of Naugatuck, she had been employed at the Naugatuck Glass Shop, Uniroyal-Footwear and retired from the Uniroyal-Chemical. She was a member of Clube Uniao Portuguesa of Naugatuck, the Portuguese Suncoast Assoc. in St. Petersburg, Fl., and was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Seminole, Fl. and a former communicant of Lady of Fatima Parish in Waterbury, where she was a former member of  Our Lady of the Rosary Society.   

Besides her husband of 65 years, “Tony”, she leaves a daughter Linda (Frank) Costeira of Newark, N.J. and a son, Anthony (Katherine) Oliveira of Bethlehem, CT.; four grandchildren, Nicholas Costeira, Elizabeth Costeira, Joseph Oliveira, and Jordonna Oliveira.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Mario Alipio and a sister, Maria Fernandes.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday Oct. 13, 2018 with the procession forming at 9:15 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. and proceeding to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, 225 Cross St., Naugatuck. 06770-4729.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice at Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Suite 400, Clearwater, Fl. 33760-3415 (www.suncoasthospicefoundation, org).
