Obituary of Betty J. Ferrari

NAUGATUCK - Betty J. (Ash) Ferrari, 90, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Harold Ash Jr. and the late Nicholas Ferrari.

 

Mrs. Ferrari was born January 1, 1928 in Mishwak, IN, the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Stricker) Holycross.  She worked for many years at Peter Paul in Naugatuck and after her retirement was a Senior Companion with NOW Inc.  She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church and enjoyed concerts on the green and traveling with her family.

 

Mrs. Ferrari is survived by her sons Harold "Jody" Ash (Angel) of Prospect, Nicholas Ferrari (Phyllis) of SC, Lawrence Ferrari (Ruth) of VA, James Ferrari of Naugatuck, and Mark Ferrari (Donna) of Naugatuck and Harry Ferrari (Tiffany) of MD; her daughters Donna Ferrari of Terryville, Deborah DeSantis of Naugatuck, Bell Derr (Samuel) of PA, and Betty Stepney (William) of Morris; her brothers Al Holycross (Judy) of Cheshire and Robert Holycross (Barbara) of NC; her daughter-in-law Janice Ash; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her son Glen Ash; her brothers, Joseph Holycross, and Harold Holycross; her sister, Dorothy Clauss; her grandchildren, Robert DeSantis, Ryan Ferrari and Rebecca Ferrari.

 

The Ferrari and Ash families would like to thank the staff of VITAS Hospice as well as all of the friends who care for Mrs. Ferrari during the last few weeks.

 

Arrangements – Visitation for Mrs. Ferrari will be held on Thursday November 15, 2018 from 8:30 to 10:30am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. and proceed to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church for a funeral service at 11am.  Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 210 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
