Obituary of Lucille Elaine Knowlton

MERIDEN- Lucille Elaine (Long) Knowlton formerly of Cheshire, age 92, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at The Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden. She was the widow of Edward A. Knowlton whom she was married to for 56 years.

She was born November 13, 1926 in Derby, daughter of the late Glenn Sr. and Mildred (Whiting) Long.

Lucille was a 1946 graduate from the Junior College of Physical Therapy in New Haven. She was an Optometric Assistant for Dr. Charles McAtavey’s office in Cheshire until her retirement in 1988. Lucille was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church in Hamden, and the Eastern Star- Alice Chapter #76.

She is survived by a son James K. and his wife Debbie H. Knowlton of Gainesville, FL; her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Trella of Meriden; her son-in-law John M. Grieco of Frankfort, ME; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Lucille was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra J. Knowlton-Grieco; her bother, Glenn Long, Jr. and his wife, Peggy; and an infant son.

A Memorial Service for Lucille will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2PM at CT Baptist Homes, 292 Thorpe Avenue, Meriden, CT 06450.
