Obituary of Evelyn H. Kedderis

Evelyn H. (Fenske) Kedderis, 95, a resident of Naugatuck for 88 years, died on January 7, 2019 at Touchpoints at Farmington in Farmington, CT. She was the widow of Leo G. Kedderis.

Evelyn was born in Naugatuck on December 20, 1923, daughter of the late Rudolf and Augusta (Deske) Fenske.  A 1942 graduate of Naugatuck High School, she worked as a head clerk at Uniroyal Footwear for several years, and later as an administrative assistant for the Connecticut Education Association.  Evelyn enjoyed sewing, knitting, and shell collecting; and especially looked forward to annual vacations on Cape Cod with her family. Above all, Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Dr. Gregory L. Kedderis of Chapel Hill, NC, and Pamela J. Kedderis of Farmington, as well as one sister, Dorothy Latka of Shelton, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her beloved husband of 57 years, she was predeceased by her brother and sisters William Fenske, Gladys Reed, and Emma Behuniak.  

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Touchpoints at Farmington for their compassionate care in Evelyn’s final years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 10 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St.  Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O.
