Obituary of Virginia Paulate

CHESHIRE – Virginia O. Paulate, 70, passed away Wednesday February 6, 2019 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  She was the wife of Ernesto Paulate.

Mrs. Paulate was born June 22, 1948, in Liliw, Laguna Philippines, a daughter of the late Cresenciano and Belen (Esmilla) Orillaza. She was retired from Alexion Pharmaceuticals where she was employed as a quality assurance/stability scientist.

Virginia was a faithful and active parishioner of St. Bridget of Sweden in Cheshire.  A member of the Cheshire Garden Club she took great pride and enjoyment playing in her garden.  One of the great passions of her lifetime was her love of travel, and she imparted the joy and discovery of experiencing other cultures through traveling with her loved ones.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Paulate is survived by her only daughter, Kathleen Kiernan, and her husband, Timothy, of Cheshire, and her beloved grandchildren, Chloe, Lila, and Evie. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters - Lourdes, Ruben, Librada, Cresenciano Jr., Natalia, Priscilla, Benjamin (deceased), Cristina, Leonardo, Belencita, and Nathaniel.

Arrangements – Funeral services for Mrs. Paulate will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019, with the funeral procession leaving the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street at 9:30 a.m. and proceeding to St. Bridget of Sweden Parish /St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon, February 10, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
