Obituary of Evelyn Ricci
CHESHIRE - Evelyn R. Ricci, 84, passed away Thursday December 20, 2012 at her home after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was the wife of Leonard A. Ricci.
Mrs. Ricci was born May 31, 1928 in Meriden, the daughter of the late George and Stella (Gimza) Pichnarcik. She was a lifelong Cheshire resident where she was communicant of St. Bridget Church. She graduated from Meriden School of Nursing in 1949 and was employed by the Cheshire Board of Education as a School Nurse for over 30 years. She worked at several Cheshire schools, spending a majority of her career at Cheshire High School before her retirement. Evelyn loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. She was also an avid gardener.
Besides her husband of 61 years, Mrs. Ricci is survived by her son Leonard Ricci Jr., John Ricci and his wife Melanie both of Cheshire; her daughters Barbara Ricci Ruddy and her husband Larry of Cheshire, Nancy Ricci Collins and her husband Daniel of Cheshire, Patricia Ricci Carlson of Cheshire; her brothers George Pichnarcik and his wife Abby of SC and John Pichnarcik of Durham; her sisters Louise Galipeau and her husband Roland of FL and Edith Patterson and her husband Pat of FL; her grandchildren Michelle Ricci Falk, Daniel Ruddy, Sara Ruddy, Michael Ricci, Johnathan Ricci, Paul Ruddy, Lindsey Ricci Choo, Rachael Ricci, Stephanie Carlson, Laura Carlson, Christine Collins and Katherine Collins; her great grandchildren Hayley, Jack, Joshua, Derek, Gabriella, Jayden and Boden.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 22, 2012, 9:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
