Obituary of Lynn Carney

CHESHIRE - Lynn Evenson Carney, 53, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Steven Carney. Lynn was born August 15, 1959 in Youngstown, OH the daughter of Lillian Boughner and Irvin Evenson. She was a retired mortgage professional from Webster Bank in New Britain. Graduated from Lone Oak HS, class of '77; Attended Murray State University and graduated from Golden Gate University of San Francisco class of '94 where she studied political Science and pre Law. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mikkel Evenson, and sister Virginia Summers. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sisters Wanda ( Dick ) McKinney of Knox, PA, Rene Evenson of Fort Collins, CO, Shirley Sikora of Canfield, OH, Ruth Holmes of Boaz, KY, and Krista ( Mike ) Roman of Paducah, KY, her brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Nancy Carney of Cheshire CT, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynn loved gardening and her precious dogs Cee Cee and Hero. Although she suffered her last years with cancer she found comfort in the love of her family and friends she made along her life's journey. The Lord has need for another "angel", and He has chosen a good one. She will be missed by many. Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Feb 2nd at 11:00AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Belmont Cemetery in Youngstown, OH and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Lynn's name can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
