Obituary of James Goodwin
CHESHIRE - James E. Goodwin, 54, passed away February 1, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Alberta (Esposito) Goodwin.
James was born February 19, 1958 in Hartford, the son of Epsie (Coons) Goodwin and the late Edward Goodwin. He was a graduate of Newington High School Class of 1976 and was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation for 26 years as an Information Technology Supervisor. He was a Cheshire resident for several years having lived previously in New Britain and Newington.
Besides his wife of 23 years and his mother of Newington, James is survived by his children Chris Goodwin of Stratford, Karin Goodwin of Torrington, Matthew Goodwin of Cheshire and Jessica Goodwin of Cheshire; his sister Lynn and Dan Rouleau of New Britain; his father and mother-in-law Michael and RoseMarie (Marsico) Esposito of New Haven, his brothers-in-law Michael of New Haven and Salvatore and Kate of North Haven. He is also survived by his niece, Isabella Esposito.
Jim loved computers and technology of any kind, always experimenting and researching new ideas and concepts. Besides his love of music, he was also a science fiction enthusiast and car lover. He enjoyed bowling on the DOT Bowling League and spending time with his three animals. He was an active member of St. Thomas Becket Church of Cheshire volunteering many hours as a greeter and helping out as a computer advisor. Jim was a very hard working, responsible and generous person who was always willing to help anyone. He gave of his time selflessly both at work and with friends.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 7, 2013, 9:15, from the Alderson Funeral Home 615 S. Main St. to St. Thomas Becket Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
