Obituary of Thomas Marino

WATERBURY- Mr. Thomas C. Marino, 61, of Waterbury, passed away late Wednesday evening Feb. 6, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital-Vitas Hospice Unit. Tom was born in Waterbury, Sept. 15, 1951, a son of the late Henry and Mary (Pannone) Marino and had been a resident of Watertown and Waterbury. He was educated in the Watertown school system and was a graduate of Watertown High School. He was an outstanding athlete while in high school and as an outstanding member of the football team. He was named an "All American" and had been recruited by several colleges prior to his graduation. He was inducted into the Watertown High School Football Hall of Fame. He was the owner of Marino Care Taking and had been the Superintendent of Riverside Cemetery Assoc. until his illness. He is survived by his son, Jesse Marino and his wife Lauren of Ansonia and a step-son, Scott White and his wife, Kristin, of Middlebury; 3 brothers, John Marino of Waterbury, James Marino of Watertown, and Henry Marino of New Milford; 2 sisters, Kathy Marchesseault of Dixon, CA and Mary Beth Tilden of Chandler, AZ; 2 step-grandchildren, Andrew White and Olivia White and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Richard and sister Jackie. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening, Feb. 12. 2013 at 7:30 pm at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
