Obituary of Dorothy Roth

CHESHIRE - Dorothy P. Roth, 85, passed away Monday March 4, 2013 at Mid-State Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Hilton A. Roth who passed away in August of 2012. Mrs. Roth was born August 25, 1927 in Windsor the daughter of the late John E. and Mary D. (Linonis) Perry. She was raised in the Windsor area, graduating from Bloomfield High School, before moving to Cheshire. During her years in Cheshire, she was an active member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church, serving on the Ladies Guild as well as singing in the Choir. Dorothy and her husband served their community for many years by working the polling stations during elections. She was employed by the Town of Cheshire, working in the Town Clerk's office. Dorothy and her husband enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod, MA and Ogunquit, ME. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Roth is survived by her sons Robert and his wife Faith of Cheshire, Stephen and his wife Karen of Oregon; her daughters Pamela Salvestrini and her husband John of Waterbury and Marcia Zanko and her husband Bryant of Michigan; her sister Mary Dennison of Southington and Ruth Jefferis of Windsor; her six grandchildren Katharyn, Christopher, Kimberly, Michael, Rachel and Daniel, Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Cheshire Lutheran Church, 660 West Main St. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor's choice.
