Please accept my sincere condolences. May you be comforted by the hope found in God's Word, the Bible, which promises that one day the earth will be a place free of pain, mourning, sickness and death (Revelation 21:4). These words were written to bring comfort to us and I hope that they bring you a measure of comfort and help you to cope during these most difficult days.

I first met Dave around 1985, when I was hired by the VA to teach him computer skills. In the upstairs room at the far end of the house away from his bedroom, we worked on his Hewlett-Packard Touch-Screen computer until we had explored every possible command in Microsoft Excel, and unraveled all the mysteries of every form of the IRS 1040 Tax Form.
I soon learned that Dave was interested in automobiles, which have been my passion since I was a small child. I am now a member of the Society of Automotive Historians, and have given slide presentations on various automotive history topics.
In the early 1990's I began going to antique auto shows and taking photographs LOTS of photographs. At some point I started taking Dave to auto shows, usually once a year. We went to Glastonbury, Simsbury, and Goshen, twice each. We also went to the Greenwich Concours in 1997.
Each year, after all my photos had been printed, I would bring my most recent photos albums out to Middlebury for Dave to look at. In the past two or three years, since I got a laptop computer, I would bring the laptop out and we would look at the pictures on the screen.
I can't express how good it made me feel to give Dave a chance to get out and do something he enjoyed. Dave was a good friend, and I will miss him.

Two tired eyes are sleeping,
Two willing hands are still.
For one who suffered far too much,
Is resting in God's will.
David, though you suffered through much of your life, you never lost your sense of humour. You've been a great uncle who always found time for your niece and nephew, and you've been a good friend.
You'll be sadly missed.
