Obituary of William Mahmood

CHESHIRE- William "Bill" Francis Mahmood, 61, passed away peacefully Monday May 6, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen (Wallace) Mahmood. Bill was born December 12, 1951 in Bridgeport son of the late Bader and Alice Grace (Rock) Mahmood. He was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design. Besides his loving wife Bill is survived by two sons Bryan and his wife Stacey Mahmood of Rockland, MA, and Jeffrey Mahmood of Bristol, RI; a daughter Leila and her husband Joseph Mathiau of Glastonbury, CT; a brother Louis and his wife Christy Mahmood of Newtown, CT; two grandsons Jacob Robert and Lucas Dahmas Mathiau; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Dames N. Mahmood. An avid Star Trek and NASCAR fan, Bill was also a member of the CT Triumph Register Club, and regularly won awards at local car shows with his 1971 TR6. Bill had a great talent for music, both guitar and vocals, that began at an early age. Starting with rock music in his teenage years in a band that practiced in his parents' basement, Bill added both contemporary and traditional Christian music to his repertoire sharing his gift as a cantor, folk guitar player, choir member and worship band bassplayer. Arrangements- Bill's funeral will be held 9:15 A.M Saturday May 11, 2013 from The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 to St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, 06410 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. with burial to follow. Calling hours will be held Friday May 10, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to Children's Wish Foundation International, 8615 Roswell Rd., Atlanta, GA 30350.
