Obituary of Philip Coyle
WATERBURY- Philip T. Coyle Jr. went peacefully to his reward on May 8, 2013 at his home accompanied by his health care aids.
He was the first born child of Philip T. Coyle Sr. and Hannah R. Coyle on Tophet Road in Roxbury. He graduated from Painter Hill Grammar School, and Booth Free High School in Roxbury. After helping in construction of The Roxbury Market building he trained as an Automobile Mechanic in Waterbury and served three and half years in the Army Air Corps in World War II, rising to Tech. Sargent in Aircraft Maintenance Specialty, he served in the Panama Canal Zone.
After his military service he was employed by CR&L Lines in Waterbury maintaining buses and managing the New Britain maintenance facility. After the demise of CR&L he developed and managed the maintenance operation for Northeast Transportation in Waterbury which became CT Transit.
Philip was preleased by his wife Jessie, three brothers; Donald of Bridgewater, David of Hartford, and John of Roxbury. He is survived by his brother Terrence of Prospect and two sisters; Eileen Piskura of Roxbury, and Annabelle Lynn of Watertown. He also leaves seven nephews, five nieces, seven grand nephews, fifteen grand nieces, one great grandnephew, and two great grandnieces.
Arrangements- Philip's funeral will be held 10:15 A.M Saturday May 11, 2013 from The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710 to St. John's Episcopal Church, 16 Church St Waterbury, CT 06702 for a service at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday May 10, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M at the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to St. John's Church Memorial Fund, 16 Church St Waterbury, CT 06702.
