Obituary of Rafaela Lopez

WATERBURY- Mrs. Rafaela (Pomales) Lopez, 66, of Waterbury, passed away Monday morning Aug. 5, 2013 at the Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of Santos I. Lopez. Mrs. Lopez was born in Vieques, Puerto Rico, June 23, 1947 a daughter of the late Miguel and Anastacia (Rodriguez) Pomales and had been a resident of Waterbury for the past 47 years, moving here from New York City. She was educated in Puerto Rico and attended the University of Puerto Rico. She was a devoted member of Jehovah's Witnesses and lover her family very much. Revelation 21:4, "Y limpiarå toda lågrima de sus ojos, y la muerte no serå mås, ni existirå ya mås lamento ni clamor ni dolor. Las cosas anteriores han pasado." In addition to her husband of 47 years Santos, she leaves her children; a daughter, Irma J. Lopez; two sons, Santos G. Lopez and Edward Lopez all of Waterbury; one brother, Jose Miguel Pomales, Jr. of Carolina, P. R. and a sister Maria Del Nundez of Trujillo Alto, R.R.; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
