Obituary of Idalina Gomes

NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Idalina (Lage) Gomes, 63, of Naugatuck, passed away early Friday morning Sept. 20, 2013 at the Glendale Center in Naugatuck. She was the wife of Daniel Gomes. Idalina was born in Redondelo, Chaves, Portugal, Jan. 4, 1950 a daughter of Secundina (Moreno) Lage and the late Antonio Lage. She was educated in Portugal and had been a resident of this country for the past 38 years, first living in Bridgeport and then moving to Naugatuck 11 years ago. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Waterbury. Besides her Mother of Portugal and her Husband of 45 years, she leaves her daughters Maria Gomes, Fatima Vargas and Fernanda Gomes all of Naugatuck; 3 brothers, Joaquim, Fernando and Eduardo and 2 sisters, Marcelina and Ana Maria all of Portugal and 4 grandsons, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Xavier and Alex. A private funeral will be held on Tuesday Sept. 24, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross St., Naugatuck.
