Obituary of Philip Kenney
CHESHIRE- Philip L. Kenney, 86, passed away Friday November 22, 2013 at the Masonic Health Care Facility in Wallingford. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor T. Kenney.
The son of the late George M. and Gladys (McKay) Kenney, he was born August 4, 1927 in Providence, RI. Philip proudly served in the United States Navy. He attended Brown University where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and later earned a Master's degree from Harvard Business School.
Philip was the owner and chief executive officer of Dukon Plastic Molding Company in Berlin, CT from 1966-88, and then the owner and chief executive officer of MacDonald Medical Devices, Inc., in Cheshire, CT prior to his retirement. He was a long time and active member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Jeffrey and his wife Joanna Papa Kenney of North Haven, Susan C. Kenney and her husband Gonzalo Jouan of Catonsville, MD, Martha and her husband Joshua Holquist of North Branford; Steven Kenney of Cheshire; and eight grandchildren, Zachary, Grace, Nicole, Collin, Cameron, Casey, Jesse, and Eli. He was predeceased by two brothers Dr. Robert Kenney, and G. Dickson Kenney.
Arrangements- A Memorial Service for Philip will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday November 30, 2013 at Cheshire Lutheran Church, 660 West Main St, 06410. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Rather than calling hours, there will be a reception at the church following the service at 2 P.M. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 is assisting with the arrangements.
