Aunt Mary was always indulgent of me at family reunions when I would probe, asking questions about the earlier generations. She was always so warm and receptive. Though she did not feel comfortable driving to big life events of mine at night (ie wedding, baby shower), she would send her condolences and a gift nonetheless. I had minimal memories of Aunt Mary from the reunions of my childhood, and I am so grateful to Cousin Helen for arranging the recent family reunions. I work with seniors every day, and I have older family members who I am emotionally close to in Long Island and Hilton Head, SC, but thanks to the family reunions, I have once again gotten to know my local family. I am so grateful that I got to reunite with Aunt Mary before it was too late. Thanks, Helen.
