Obituary of Margaret Coe

MIDDLEBURY- Mrs. Margaret "Marge" (Hanna) Coe, 77, of Middlebury, passed away Friday evening Feb. 14, 2014 at the Middlebury Convalescent Home. She was the wife of Richard D. Coe. Mrs. Coe was born in West Addison, VT, Nov. 29, 1936, a daughter of the late J. Howard and Calista (Pecue) Hanna and was educated in the local schools. Marge was a graduate of Vergennes Union High School and Bouve College in Boston, with a degree in Physical Therapy, and had been employed at Waterbury Hospital and later at Waterbury Extended Care Facility in Watertown. She was a member of the Middlebury Congregational Church and had been an avid skier, enjoyed rug hooking, sewing and knitting. Marge was proud of her family and enjoyed and treasured the time spent with them. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Middlebury Convalescent Home for their loving care and attention to Marge while she was a patient there. In addition to her husband, Dick of 55 years, she leaves a daughter, Katheryn C. Moran and her husband Kevin of Torrington, a son, William S. Coe and his wife Mary Ellen of Watertown and 5 Grandchildren, Richard F. Moran and James D. Moran of Torrington; Melissa N. Coe, Sarah H. Coe and Megan C. Coe of Watertown. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday Feb. 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Middlebury Congregational Church, 1242 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury, 06762. Burial will be in Middlebury Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the Alderson Funeral Homes of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Conn., 2075 Silas Deane Hwy., Suite 100, Rocky Hill, 06067.
