Jeffrey was my first friend. We grew up in the same apartment building in the Bronx. He was a sweet, nutty, funny guy. He had a great sense of humor even at age 7. He used to be protective of me because he was six months older( big deal I used to tell him). He punched me in the arm once ( which was so out of character) because I didn’t care if they tore down the tower at PS 7. He was mad because he thought we should honor old buildings. My mother and Fanny and Jeffrey and I kept in touch for many years. I still have the picture of him in his tux going to prom. I’m not sure if anyone will see this so many years hence. I once read an obituary for Willys mother in law and that is how I found out the town Jeffrey lived in. John and Willy if you seen this please know I send my condolences for the loss of a wonderful friend, partner and brother.mI am sorry to know his light no longer shines. May his memory be a blessing. It always has been for me. Regards, Susan Loughlin Beringer, the red headed girl from apartment 6D

Chorus class with Jeffrey was a blast. It wasn't unusual to start or end the class with a belly laugh. We also shared a history class. The teacher would give the class wearing an uncomplementary wig that she wore backwards at times. Sure enough, we would be trying so hard not to laugh and could not.
We met again at the drive through of naugatuck savings bank. Laughter was always part of our conversation. I told him I would pray for him.
I saw him one day I visited the bank. As I started walking towards the parking lot I saw him meeting with his coworkers in a corner office. I had been thinking about him and felt the need to speak to him face to face. I stood and watched him hoping to get his attention but he was engaged in conversation and seemed very happy. I knew his operation went well but I could not stop thinking of him. My heart was heavy. I prayed that I would see him again and now I regret not interrupting the office meeting. I didn't know that would be the last time I saw him. I felt the need to tell him to trust his life to Jesus Christ and that He would take care of all his concerns, that we don't have to be perfect to serve him but that by accepting him into our lives we become changed, brand new and our hearts respond automatically. This weighs heavy on me and brings on the tears. I think that these moments give us an opportunity to reevaluate our lives. Love your friends and family. Forgive your friends and family. Talk to God. Don't worry about interrupting a conversation to say hello to a friend.

To Jack and family my thoughts & Prayers are with you at this difficult time.I was so upset when I heard of his passing-I have known him since I started working here 12 years ago-on the top of my list of the nicest people I have met. Dear Jack and family, Although I just reconnected with Jeff after many years, I remember him from the Wilby and around town. Jeff was a great guy and a warm friend. My thoughts are with you at this most difficult time.
