We are very sorry that we are unable to be with Mary's family and friends to celebrate her life. She was always a smiling, vivacious, caring, friend. Richard, Jeff, Kim, Kristin, Oliver and the grandchildren gave her so much joy. Mary and Richard were the first friends we made when we moved to Waterbury and were there for us when our second child was born. Mary is gone too soon and will be missed. Please know our thoughts are with all of you

Dear Richard and Family, Friends like Mary are hard to find. In a lifetime you get only a few. Mary made a difference everywhere she went...her smile, laugh, wit and wisdom were infectious and a blessing for us all. As the years passed, I realized how lucky and blessed I was to call her my friend. Thank you Mary for being you...I love you and will miss you. My deepest sympathy Richard and children.

Dear Richard and family, It has been a long journey til morn. Goodbye till morning come again, We part, if part we must, with pain, But night is short, and hope is sweet, Faith fills our hearts and wings our feet; And so we sing an old refrain, Goodby, til morning come again.

I met Mary and Dick at ASU where we had many great times. Mary was also the cousin of one of my buddies from Grammar School, High School and College. Robin and I got to know Mary and Dick much more intimately staying with them during multiple trips to New England with our daughters. One of our favorite situations was when Mary and the kids visited us at our rented cottage in Nantucket. One of the kids had chicken pox so Mary and Robin dumped all of them in the bathtub so the rest of them could catch the chicken pox and be "done with it". I remember Mary's biggest complaint about moving to Connecticut was that no stores sold tortillas and being a California/Arizona girl, she was ticked she couldn't make tacos. And, to add insult to injury, there were no Mexican restaurants in Waterbury!
We loved her dearly and were thrilled that she was able to visit California last fall and we were able to spend some quality time with her.

Growing up in Cheshire, I really just liked all things Bruno. Every Bruno I knew, and there were plenty of you!, was great in some way. I was always glad when Brunos were around! But, I have to say it was only as an adult who looks back, that I realized what a wonderful person Mary was. The one time I had the chance to visit with her in the last 20 years...I told her how much I appreciated her sponsoring our fledgling Cheshire High School Club Ski team. It is only now that I am a parent that I really realize the efforts she made, to be a GREAT mom. Because now I know how much effort it takes to do all the things she did. Hosting me at your house for play dates and welcoming me for birthday parties and making sure there were healthy snacks and making a team happen for her kids and so many others, who loved to ski! She had a great smile... and I remember that she wasn't a pushover, that we couldn't get away with too much around her... and I love that, because, ...well her kids turned out pretty terrific. I just really liked what I knew of Mary and that is what makes me soo sad for your loss. You just keep telling those grand daughters that there is now MORE dancing and delight in heaven as their looks down and watches them grow! All the best.
