Obituary of Beatrice Carlson

NAUGATUCK - Beatrice (Fenn) Carlson, 99, passed away Sunday March 30, 3014 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Norman Joseph Carlson to whom she was married for 64 years. Born on January 19, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Anderson Fenn and Robert William Fenn. A native of Naugatuck, Beatrice was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and The Connecticut Institute of Cosmetology of Hartford. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Naugatuck, The Naugatuck Women's Club and the Naugatuck Garden Club. She was an avid bridge player and was always ready for a party with her family and friends. Beatrice is survived by her children Fernn C. Hubbard of Guilford, Priscilla C. Racki and her husband Henry of Durham, Normal Carlson Jr. and his wife Nancy of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; her ten grandchildren Elisabeth (Steven) VanDerMaelen, Christina (Andrew) Roberts, Stacey Hubbard, Heather (Eric) Wold, Henry (Carolyn) Racki the III, Jessica (Craig) Outhouse, Erica (Jonathan) Fenwick, Tiffany Carlson, Brittany Carlson, and Courtney Carlson; her great grandchildren Emily VanDerMaelon, Alexander Roberts, Madeline Roberts, Cameron Hubbard, Hannah Racki, Christopher Racki, Julia Wold, Geneva Outhouse, Jack Fenwick, and Cecelia Fenwick. Beatrice was predeceased by her grandson Alan (Carl) Hubbard, her son-in-law Alan E. Hubbard and by her siblings, Olive Fenn Redshaw, Robert A. Fenn, and Austin W. Fenn. Arrangements - A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday April 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.
