We have such great memories of "Ginny" from our years in Cheshire. Norton School and St. Thomas Becket were truly blessed to have her spirit and sense of humor, and deep commitment to parish and community as well as family. When we look back through our memory book we see her picture and smile. Our sincere sympathies to her family.

Mrs. Gaughran was someone who I have always treasured in my heart, I have had the honor of knowing her since Maureen and I became best friends and neighbors since Norton school. I've spent endless days playing and countless nights sleeping over and can still hear Mrs. Gaughran singing a few of her favorite oldies. She was my #2 mom and she would call me her #2 daughter. There will be only one Mrs. Gaughran, and I am proud to say, I knew her and loved her. God bless you, Mrs. Gaughran, Maureen and Micheal.

We were very sad to read that Virginia had passed away. She was always so cheerful and engaging whenever our paths crossed. She would always take the time to ask how each of our children were doing. We were always amazed that Virginia could remember all their names even though she hadn't seen them since they were very young.

I loved Virginia so much. She was a great babysitter for me when I was a little girl. She would take me to tag sales, have meals together in restaurants, and go to Church together. I am now in my forties but remember wonderful memories of her. I admired her and always looked up to her. She was a wonderful friend.

We Miss Her Auntie Gee Gee was a ray of sunshine every time we saw her, her humor always made us laugh and we loved to hear her sing. Edgemont St. was always enlivened when she was there and we are so grateful to have had her in our lives. She was a truly wonderful woman and she will be much missed. Our hearts go out to Michael and Maureen and their families, we love you both and pray for you. The Carrs

We were very saddened to learn of Virginia's passing. We live on the next street over and we would often see Virginia while my children and I were walking to Norton School. Virginia always had a smile and some cheerful words to say. She definately was a person who considered the "glass half full". On Memorial Day a number of years ago she was on her way to the Cheshire Hiilside Cemetery when her car broke down. I was driving by and recognized her and so we stopped and gave her a ride to the cemetery. She sent me a lovely thank you note and was so appreciative of any help given to her. I will always remember her lovely smile and happy outlook on life. Our lives are all a little better because we have had the good fortune to have someone as lovely as Virginia with us. To the family, please accept our sincere sympathies. The Lowe/LeVier Family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Virginia's passing. My Mother and I have known her since I went to school with her children at Norton. I saw her nearly every week at St Thomas Becket and we would always spend a few moments saying hello or teasing each other -- she had such a wonderful sense of humor. A sweet voice, a sweet person who will be truly missed. My sincerest condolences -- May God watch over her and the family she leaves.

I was so sad to hear about Virginia's passing - she was an inspiration to all - ageless and full of life. The Saturday night Masses will not be the same without her. The St. Thomas Becket family has lost a wonderful person. May she rest in eternal peace.

What a smile. What a wit. When I mischievously noted to her after Mass one day that I didn't see her singing along with the rest of us at church, she turned to me with an impish grin and whispered "I only sing in bars." RIP, Mrs. Gaughran.

I will truly miss Virginia. I first meet her when my husband Bob and I were greeters at church. She was one too and we soon started a friendship which was so easy considering how upbeat and friendly she was. After Bob passed away she would just call me to see how I was doing and we kept our friendship going by seeing each other at the Senior Center. I will never forget her.

Mrs. Gaughran was the classiest as well as most Christian woman I do believe I've ever known. Those traits, together, made her the perfect voice to hear on the telephone, the perfect person to run into the grocery store, an encouraging spirit to so many of us. Over the past three+ decades I've known her, her qualities never faded, but only grew stronger as a light to all of us. Those 88 years were spent richly indeed, and absolutely she is singing with the heavenly choirs now and loving every minute of it. ~ Jonathan Budd

Virginia was a very good friend to me for a long time and I considered her as a mother figure to me even though she was not old enough to be my mother. When we last talked on the phone(I now live in Florida)in October, we told each other that we had cancer. She sounded like her usual cheerful self then. I am so sad that she is no longer here on earth but I am sure she is smiling down on all of us. I loved her dearly. Sincerely, Judy Cunningham

God bless Virginia. Her smile, caring attitude, positive outlook and wonderful sense of humor will live on in our memories. She was so welcoming, when we moved into the neighborhood and has always been a good friend. She was excited for us at the birth of our son, Ryan, and shared her love of children with us. Her eyes would light up, when Ryan would run over to talk with her. We knew that she loved to sing, so when she invited us to the Senior Center, we were glad to get the chance to hear her perform. We sat beside her and Ryan was very impressed with her singing. We will miss Virginia, especially our telephone conversations and talking with her as she got off the senior bus. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
