To all of Joe & Bernie's family I have so many fond childhood memories of spending time at your grandparents (my great Uncle Pat & Aunt Louise) home for family visits. All the Harty families had a close relationship. Your mom & dad would always stop by my parents Kit & Jiggs Managan)house when they came for a visit especially Alumni! It was great getting to know all of you again at Killington. Wish I could have been there to support you thru theloss of your mom was a very special lady!! My brother Jim Managan said it was a very nice service. We extend our sympathy and love to you and all of your families. Please email me to keep in touch and hopefully I will do a Harty update so all of the cousins can carry on their tradition of family. Love Teri Bard

I will always treasure the years I worked with Bern at APS then InterPay. She was always smiling and we had many laughs with she and Dede Malloy! Rest In Peace Bern.

It is clear from the many wonderful family photos that Aunt Bernie was a much loved matriarch of the Joe Harty family. Unfortunately, our family living 2000 miles away, meant that we only had brief meetings during vacations, and family reunions, with the latest being Meghan's wedding. My memories of Aunt Bernie mostly include her sweet and caring attitude, her active lifestyle, a smile with sparkling blue eyes that lit up a room and very joyous laughter. She will be missed by all who knew her. My heart goes out especially to her kids and grandkids who will surely miss a loving "Mom" and "Grandma!" She set a fine example of living life to its fullest.

I just learned of Bernie's death, and I am so, so sorry for your loss. She was always so active. When Bill, the boys, and I ventured back to VT, we always looked forward to seeing Bernie and the rest of the Hartys. She was always so welcoming and made everyone feel at home. I know the last couple of years have been tough for her; now she is at peace. Love to all of you.

I just watched the beautiful video tribute to my Aunt Bernie. How lucky we all were to have her on this earth! My memories go back to the house on the hill in Vermont. It was always so much fun to visit Uncle Joe's and Aunt Bernie's house. Of course it was so good of them to have kids the same age as us! I just remember my Aunt Bernie as being such a kind and loving person. I'm so lucky that she was my aunt. My mom always talked about her sisters-in-law as the "three B's"... Bunny, Betty, and Bernie. She loved them all and is so very sad to lose Bernie.

I have known Bern for thirty three years since being married to her daughter Joani. Because of the distance from Minnesota to Connecticut we didn't spend many hours together with Joe and Bern. When we were together we either golfed, skied, or played with the kids; usually at Holidays. Probably the fondest time remembered was when Bern agreed it was time for popcorn. We both shared that liking. She will be missed.
Love, Les
