Dearest Vilma, I am so very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. I only just heard this morning, so I am sorry to have missed seeing you in person on Wednesday. Charlie was a wonderful boss and even better friend. He made the staff of Highland School into a family who all cared for and about each other in a genuine way. I will always remember his caring smile, his supportive shoulder and his loving manner toward all of us and all of the children. I feel blessed to have known Charlie and am grateful for having him in my life. Blessings to you, Vilma, and to all of your family.

My earliest memories of Mr. Hague, were that he was such a great friend to my Uncle Tom and Aunt Pat. The friendship lasted throughout the years and was a testament to what makes all friendships strong, mutual respect, kindness, positive interaction, and of course The Red Sox. I was so happy to have been part of our family celebrations where Charlie and Vilma were included. Each was fun loving, cheerful, and happy. Vilma my sincere condolences to you and your family. Charlie Hague was a wonderful man.

Mr. Hague was my elementary school principal when I attended Highland School. I will never forget how he came into my third grade class one day with this large piece of white chart paper. He then proceeded to teach us--a bunch of third graders--the multiplication tricks for the "9's." I remember how excited he was to show us, and that left such a positive influence on me as a little girl. I have told that story to many of my students, and I always chuckle when I think of that math lesson.
I'm sure there are many others like me who have fond memories of Mr. Hague. I know he'll be missed.

How fortunate was I that Mr. Hague came across my application to teach in the Cheshire School System! That was 1970 and my career in education began at Chapman School ; Mr. Hague was there for all his teachers-the head of the team that worked together to provide a great education for all who came through those doors. He was a friend to us all and certainly a role-model for me. He was a gentle leader with a beautiful smile and kind words. Mr. Hague was replaced with "Charlie" - a man who left this world a better place for having been here. My sympathy goes to Vilma, Charlie, Richard, Kristen and their families. Relive all those wonderful memories your parents created for you.
Fondly,
Joan ( Costello) Reynolds

So sorry to hear about Mr Hague's passing. I had his wife ,Miss Swanson, in third grade at Humiston school & remembered that half-way through the year she got married & we had to call her "Mrs Hague"! I know the family has lots of wonderful memories. Let that be your comfort.

I had Mr Hague in 6th grade at Dodd (I guess it was 1961) and he was, by far, my most favorite teacher growing up in Cheshire! even at my young age I knew how kind and calm he was. of course, I had a crush on him as well. my sister forwarded his obituary to me and I wanted his family to know what a huge impression he made on me and I have always thought back on him with very fond memories . May he rest in peace and may the wonderful memories you shared help you through this sad time.

Oh how many fond memories we both have of you, Vilma, and Charlie....the many retirement parties, the Petraiuolo Christmas get togethers, weddings etc. We will always remember Charlie as the "placid" one ..quiet very unassuming, rather dry sense of humor , but always a pleasure to be around. Gosh where did all those years go..... ? Our very deepest sympathiy to you and your family. Many prayers are being sent your way and may you always remember the very strong impact that Charlie had on those Cheshire kids! With love, Dorothy and Joe Lockwood
