Obituary of Edwin Payne

CHESHIRE - Edwin L. Payne, 88, passed away Thursday January 5, 2012 at Mid-State Medical center. He was the husband of the late Agnes (Thompson) Payne. Mr. Payne was born March 30, 1923 in Cheshire, the son of the late Lucius and Elsie (Minor) Payne. He was a longtime Cheshire resident and a WWII Navy Veteran. He worked as a Carpenter for many years for the Cheshire Public School as well as the La Salette Seminary. He was a communicant of St. Bridget Church. Mr. Payne is survived by his two sons John and his wife Tammy of Cheshire and Terry and his wife Sandy of Cheshire; his daughter Ellen Barrett and her husband Arthur of Manahawkin, NJ; his daughter-in-law Marisue Payne of Cheshire; his eleven grandchildren Jeffrey, Ashley, Kelly, Sean, Kathleen, Arthur, Colleen, Haley, Abbey, Benjamin and Molly; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Jeffrey and his brother Myles both of Cheshire. Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Monday January 9, 2012, 9:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial with Military honors will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
