Obituary of Cyril Arsenault

CYRIL J. "JOE" ARSENAULT "A GENUINE GENTLEMAN'S GENTLEMAN" Mr. Cyril J. "Joe" Arsenault, 78, of Waterbury graciously completed his journey on earth and returned home to God on Wednesday December 3, 2008. He will reunite with his beloved wife of 43 years the late Helen A. (Mahoney) Arsenault. Mr. Arsenault was born on May 12, 1930 in Waterbury a son of the late Cyril and Emma (Gallant) Arsenault and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. He attended Waterbury schools and was employed at Blake & Johnson and Better Formed Metals as a Heat Treater retiring after many years of service. He was an avid believer in Pro Life and helping to take care of others was his passion. He was a genuine gentleman's gentleman. Mr. Arsenault was a US Navy veteran serving from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean War as an engineman 2nd Class aboard the USS Furse. He was a Communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The family would like to thank the VNA Hope Team for their care and support during his illness. He leaves his sons, Martin Arsenault of New Jersey, Michael Arsenault of Wolcott, Joseph Arsenault of California, Raymond Arsenault of Waterbury and Andrew Arsenault of Maryland, his daughters, Donna Arsenault of West Haven and Candace Donnelly of Waterbury, his brother, Robert Gallant, his sisters, Bertha Cyr of Indiana, Norma Stewart of Maine and Loretta LeVasseur of Torrington 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his longtime friend Stella LaBruzza. He was predeceased by his brothers, Gerard and Blackie Arsenault. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Arsenault will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception 74 West Main Street. Friends are asked to meet directly at the Basilica. Burial will be in All Saint's Cemetery in Waterbury at the convenience of his family.
