My Condolences to Lisa's Family. My heart is saddened deeply at the loss of my childhood best friend Lisa. Lisa and I were great friends growing up in Logansport. We went to middle school and high school together. We were in "Swing Choir" together. She was so much fun to be with! There was never a dull moment! I will keep the great memories of Lisa close to my heart.

Dear Steven, Mary and family, I was deeply saddened to read of Lisa's passing in the Pharos Tribune. I graduated a year ahead of her in high school. She was always smiling and full of excitement. She was a pure joy to be around...her zest for life was very contagious! It was pleasing to read her love for life and others had not changed. Just thinking of her brings a smile to my face! You are in my thoughs and prayers, Julie D'Andrea Chapman LHS Class of '79

First, please give Mary a hug for me and tell her I always look at her Hello Kitty pictures and how much I love them. I wish I could have been there for her, but will be soon. I think God must have needed Auntie Lisa for another child so he took her back to him...but I'm sure she will still be taking care of Mary in her heart and watching over her.

I am so sad to hear of the news that God has called Lisa home. I am 5 years younger then Lisa, and as a young middle-school girl I started working at the Sycamore in Logansport. Lisa came home from Ball State that summer as "college girl", and she was always nice to me and never made me feel like a child (though I was compared to her!). We became friends and I even made her a dress to wear to a wedding that she was singing in one of those summers that we worked together. Looking at these pictures of Lisa, she has not changed a bit. Same happy smile, same vibrancy for life in her eyes! And, from reading the many loving entries here, I understand that Lisa's sweet Mary is in kindergarten. I have a child on each side of that - a 1st grader and a preschooler As Mary grows, I pray that these entries and stories of her lovely mom will help her know what a treasure she was to so many people.

I met Lisa on the beach at Point O' Woods where she liked to vacation. Mary was 2 years old. We spent time sharing ideas about our daughters who both have some speech issues. She told me about the songs she was teaching Mary to sing and how that might help my daughter. Mary loves playing on the playscape at Point O' Woods and in talking while our children played I came to find out that I would be having Mary in my library classes when she started school at Darcey where I am the librarian. Such a small wonderful world we live in. Lisa was always smiling and that smile shines on in her beautiful daughter Mary's smile. Her light will shine on. God Bless. Kimberly Grabowski

I wish to send stunned and sad condolences to Steven and Mary Catherine for the loss of Lisa. I am greatly saddened to hear of her passing away. For many years, Lisa has made wonderful Halloween costumes for Mary and brought her to me for her annual formal "Halloween" portrait. Each year it was a wonderful surprise to see Mary grow up and look so wonderful in the clever costumes that Lisa made for her. Lisa was most generous in her financial and gift contributions to Safe Have, the charity that I donate all proceed to for Halloween portraits. It is still difficult for me to hear this news today in the paper. Lisa and Mary were here only a few weeks ago and were alreay planning next year's Halloween costume. My prayers go out to you all in your loss of such a bright shining star. My best memories of Lisa are of the times she and my youngest sister would play together as tiny girls. To think that their friendship would last forever is amazing to me. I prayed when Mary was born and praised God as she grew into such a beautiful little girl. I will forever hold you all close in prayer that God will show you each the way home to see Lisa again. I am comforted in knowing Lisa is in heaven with my mom who just left us and they are laughing and hugging and sharing tales of Anita and Lisa. I hope to someday share in that with them.

Dear Steve, My heart is truly broken over this. Lisa has been my rock and a truly dear friend. I think of us running after Mary in the daffodils and asking Mary, "Who has the best mommy?" To which she exclaimed, "I do!" She was the best mommy and so dedicated to sweet Mary. I told Lisa about St. Gianna, the patron of mothers, and I see a lot of Lisa in her. I am reminded of this line in St. Gianna's novena "We thank You for this model wife and, through her encouraging witness, we beg You to grant to our families the serene and Christian presence of mothers committed to transform their homes into cenacles of faith and love, rich with generous activity and sanctifying service." Lisa was one of those mothers committed to her family and Jesus.

Whenever Lisa took Mary to the pediatrician, we'd see the beautiful little redhead peering into our office and we'd take a moment to exchange pleasantries with Lisa. She always had a smile on her face, as in these lovely photos. We will miss seeing Lisa; heaven has gained another angel, but the earth has lost one. May she rest in peace. When news first came to me it was Tuesday night and I was just devastated, all that I could think of was how everyone would react and how i wished that I could be there to help comfort people. sadly I wasn't able too, but I think that it was for the best. It was so sudden that the memories that came rushing back made me sad and depressed... the only thing that helped me think of it a bit better was that I knew that she would be let into heaven because of all the good that she had and that was in her heart. I really wish that she was still here but it must have been that the Lord needed her for something, the thing is that she will always live on in our hearts and in our minds. I just hope that everyone will be OK and will remember to keep her in their thoughts and prayers.
