Obituary of Edward Chase

CHESHIRE - Edward Chase, 70, passed away Wednesday January 11, 2012. He was the husband of Sandy Chase. Mr. Chase was born December 20, 1941 in Cheshire, the son of the late James and Mary (Gallagher) Chase. He was employed for over 50 years at McGuire Manufacturing in Prospect and Cheshire before his retirement in 2009. He was a member at the Cheshire Senior Center. He was also a member of the Sociable Sams and loved camping all over the U.S. and Canada. He enjoyed cruises and in 2009 fulfilled his lifelong dream of cruising Alaska. Besides his wife of 36 years, Mr. Chase is survived by his daughter Jennifer Downey and her husband Sean of Waterbury; his sister Mary Magda of Cheshire; his two grandchildren Aidan and Eric; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Ted. Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 14, 2012 at 12 noon at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at noon.
