Obituary of Judith Yavetz

Judith L. Yavetz, 87, of 326-A Heritage Village, Southbury passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Middlebury Convalescence Home. Judith was born April 20, 1921 in Waterbury. She was the daughter of Samuel A. and Rose (Lebow) Lipetz. She attended Crosby High School, and then attended Boston University where she graduated Phi-Beta-Kappa, majoring in French. Judith was a member of the Beth- El Synagogue, where she was the Sisterhood President, and at one time she edited the Beth-El Synagogue Bulletin. She was very active in Hadassah. Besides her husband, Louis Yavetz, M.D., she is survived by her daughter, Dava Yavetz and her husband David Lacher and there daughters Samantha and Ana all of New Rochelle, NY and her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Barbara Lipetz of Shelton, CT. Arrangements- Funeral Services for Judith will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, Waterbury at 12 P.M. Burial will follow in Hebrew Benefit Cemetery, Stillson Rd, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Shiva will be observed at the family's home at 46 Sara Lane New Rochelle, NY 10804.
