Obituary of Kenyon Wooster

Mr. Kenyon H. Wooster, 77, of Waterbury died Tuesday December 23, 2008 at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Lewis) Wooster. Mr. Wooster was born June 4, 1931 in Waterbury a son, of the late earl and Lucy (Hughes) Wooster. He was educated in Bethlehem, Ct schools and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. He worked for 25 years in the automotive business and the last 25 years selling home heating oil. He was an avid golfer and a member of the East Mountain Golf Association for many years. He also enjoyed walking every day, carrying milk bones for the dogs along the way. He was a US army veteran of the Korean War serving as a Sergeant in the 14th Infantry Regiment of the 25th Division. The family would like to thank the staff of Dr. Chang and Dr. Sabbath at the Harold Leever Center and the Staff of Xavier 3 for their care and support of Ken during his illness. Besides his wife of 53 years, he leaves his nephews, Earl Wooster and Judson Lewis both of Waterbury, Charles Lewis of Wolcott, Steven Lewis of Beacon Falls, Michael Lewis of California and Robert Lewis of Florida, his nieces, Karen Mathews of Wolcott and Cape Cod and Judy Murphy of Virginia. He was predeceased by his brother Earl L. Wooster, Jr. and his sister Elaine Wooster. Funeral services for Mr. Wooster will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue. Burial with military honors will follow in new Pine Grove cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
