Obituary of Stephan Protasevich
Mr. Stephan Protasevich, Jr., 81, of 133 Ravenwood Dr., Middlebury, died early Tuesday morning May 15, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Alice (Hummel)Protasevich. Mr. Protasevich was born in Waterbury, Nov. 15, 1925, a son of the late Stephen and Anna (Zeblakus) Protasevich and was educated in the local system. He was a graduate of Wilby High School and attended New York University. He was an electrician for Joseph McNillis and Sons and Leon Farr Companies for many years. He went on to own Plaza Liquors in the Waterbury Shopping Plaza and was the owner of the Sandy Beach Swim Club of Middlebury. He was a Life Member of the Waterbury Lodge # 265 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and a veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W. II, serving with the occupational forces in Japan Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves 3 daughters Mrs. Michael (Tami) Conroy, of Southington, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Skelly and Mrs. Paul (Betsy) Anderson, both of Middlebury; 5 grandchildren, Stephen, Mark, and Maura Conroy and Rachel and Lauren Anderson. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Mulville Funeral Home, 270 West Main St. at Holmes Ave. to St. John of the Cross Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the procession leaves for church.
