Obituary of Louis Duffany
Mr. Louis P. Duffany, Jr., 80, formerly of Gorman St., Naugatuck, died Thursday May 31, 2007 at the Waterbury Hospital. Mr. Duffany was born in Waterbury, May 22, 1927, a son of the late Louis P. and Rosalie (Rassmussen) Duffany and had been a Naugatuck resident for most of his life. He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, Class of 1945. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He retired From P.I.C. of Danbury and had also worked at Sikorskys as a machinist for many years. He enjoyed Horseracing and Fishing. He leaves four sons, Bruce Duffany of San Diego, CA., Jeff Duffany of Catalina, Puerto Rico, Alan Duffany of Thomaston, and Steven Duffany of Oakville; two daughters, Lenore Duffany of Waterbury and Leslie Sandoval of Higganum; a sister, Joan Fowkes of Thomaston; four grandchildren, Claudia Marie Duffany, Shawn Patrick Duffany, Kelly Rae Duffany, and Laura Tsomi Duffany and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Michele Rose Duffany. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, 06450-1004.
