Obituary of Verlie Lofberg
Mrs. Verlie A. (Messervey) Lofberg, 79, of 150 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire, died Friday June 8, 2007 at the Elim Park Baptist Home. She was the widow of Robert D. Lofberg. Verlie was born June 29, 1927 in Halifax, Nova Scotia a daughter of the late Martin Willis and Della Elzina (Clattenburg) Messervey. She was a devoted homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Cheshire Womens Club and St. Peters Episcopal Church. She leaves her sons, Stephen E. Lofberg of Monsey, NY, Carl A. Lofberg of Wellesley Island, NY and Robert K. Lofberg of Guilford, her daughters, Brenda J. Belanger of Chelmsford, MA and Jeanne V. Kosciuk of Cheshire and her sister, Bernice Tozier of New Hampshire, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Messervey. Thanks are extended to everyone at Elim Park for the love and special care given to Verlie and her family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Slater Funeral Home 242 South Main St. to St. Peters Episcopal Church 59 Main St. Cheshire for services at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peters Church Bell Fund 59 Main St. Cheshire, CT 06410.
