Obituary of Vernon Kurtz

Mr. Vernon James Kurtz, 49, of 535 Millville Ave., Naugatuck, died Monday June 11, 2007 at the Waterbury Hospital. Mr. Kurtz was born in Waterbury, Sept. 20, 1957, a son of Mrs. Aberdean (Taylor) Kurtz and the late William Kurtz. He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. He was a graduate of Waterbury State Technical School with an Associates degree and received his Bachelors degree from the University of New Haven. He received his Masters in accounting from Post College. He was employed by the Travelers Insurance Co. for the past 28 years as a Database Administrator. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Naugatuck. Besides his mother of Naugatuck, he leaves his long time girl friend, Kathy Kathan of Prospect. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Home, 40 East Houston Ave., Montgomery, PA. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery, Muncy Creek Twps, PA. Friends may call at the Betzer Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. There are no local calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of local arrangement.
