Obituary of Helen McKenna
Mrs. Helen (Lubyck) McKenna, 78, formerly of 183 Fairlawn Ave, died Tuesday June 26, 2007 at the Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph McKenna Mrs. McKenna was born in Pottsville, Pa.., a daughter of the late Andrew and Julia (Lusock) Lubyck and was educated in the local school system. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and the Powers School of Modeling in New York City. She had been a Waterbury resident since the early 50s and a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. She leaves one son, Frank P. McKenna and his wife Kristen of Southington; one daughter Mary McKenna-Guevara and her husband Che of Southbury; one sister, Marion Garthwait and her husband Robert of Wolcott; a sister-in-law, Marguerite McKenna Wallin of Waterbury; 2 grandchildren, Brett and Brendan McKenna and one nephew, Robert Garthwait, Jr. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 70 Central Ave. to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in new Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, 06518.
