Obituary of Ellen Lockwood
Mrs. Ellen Jayne (McMahon) Lockwood, 83, of 166 New Haven Ave, Waterbury, died Sunday July 15, 2007 at her home. She was the widow of John K. Lockwood, Sr. Mrs. Lockwood was born February 2, 1924 in Waterbury a daughter of the late John and Ella (Blinn) McMahon and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. She was a graduate of Sprague Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School. She was employed in the purchasing department of Centerbank in Waterbury retiring after many years of service. She was a member of the Evergreen Club at Waterbury Hospital, the Waterbury Garden Club and was a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years where she helped with the blood mobile drives. Mrs. Lockwood was an active Communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she was a longtime member of the Charismatic Prayer Group and the Ladies Guild. She leaves her sons, John K. Lockwood, Jr. and Robert A. Lockwood both of Waterbury, her daughters, Linda Norman of West Hartford and Margaret Wenzel of New Canaan, her brother, Thomas McMahon of Pompano Beach, FL, her sister-in-law, Mary McMahon of Waterbury, 4 grandchildren, Lindsey Shaker, Christi Lockwood, Julie Lockwood and Robert Lockwood and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Lockwood will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Mulville Funeral Home 270 West Main St. to the Immaculate Conception Church 74 West Main St for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
