Obituary of Florence Ellis

Miss Florence M. Ellis, 90, formerly of 172 Monmouth Ave., died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Meridian Manor. Miss Ellis was born Feb. 16, 1917 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Annie Ellis. She was educated in Waterbury schools and was employed as a production assistant at Sherwood Medical, retiring after 25 years of service. She was an avid animal lover and was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Waterbury.She leaves a cousin, Joseph Ouwleant of Cheshire and her extended family, Robert and Monique Mastrantuone of Waterbury, Karen Grossenbach of Waterbury and Arlene Muckle of Port St. Lucie, FL. She was predeceased by her extended family, Edna and Thomas Garrity, George and Alexine Grossenbach and Ronald Muckle.A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Old Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Conn. Humane Society, 788 Amity Rd., Bethany, CT 06524 or to a charity of the donors choice. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 70 Central Ave., is assisting with arrangements.
