Obituary of Myrtle Seeley

Mrs. Myrtle Jean (Jones) Seeley, 89. of 130 Woodbine St., Naugatuck, died Thursday Aug. 9, 2007 at her home. She was the widow of Rolland E. Seeley who died in 1990. Mrs. Seeley was born in Hazelton, Penn. on April 3, 1918, a daughter of the late Ezra and Cora (Applegate) Jones and had been a resident of Conn. Since 1940, first living in Norwalk and moving to Naugatuck in 1956. She retired in 1977 from Uniroyal- Footwear Div. with over 15 years of service. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Naugatuck and a member of the Post # 17, American Legion Auxiliary. She leaves a daughter Barbara Lewis of Naugatuck, with whom she made her home; one son, Ronald E. Seeley of Glendale, AZ.; one brother, Clayton Jones of Port St. Lucie, Fl.; two sisters, Marjorie Eckert and Joann Hackett both of Norwalk; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Robert Jones. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 14th at 10 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the United Methodist Church of Naugatuck, 214 Meadow St., Naugatuck, 06770.
