Obituary of Howard Schumacher
Howard Schumacher, 83, formerly of May St. died Thursday August 16, 2007 at Glendale Health Care Center. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Engle) Schumacher. Mr. Schumacher was born July 19, 1924 in Naugatuck the son of the late William and Catherine (Thoma) Schumacher. He was a WWII Army veteran. Mr. Schumacher worked for many years at Uniroyal in the Footwear division as a machine operator and later in life worked part-time for OGI Industries in Prospect. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Naugatuck. During his retired years he enjoyed camping and traveling to Florida with his wife in their motor home. He also enjoyed his dog Tasha. Besides his wife of 63 years he survived by seven sons Howard Jr. of Cromwell, William of East Hampton, Robert of Colebrook, Roger of Wethersfield, George of Naugatuck, Michael of Naugatuck, and Chris of Naugatuck; two daughters Nancy Kropo of Naugatuck and Debbie Minns of Coventry; 23 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Monday August 20th at 10 a.m. at St Michaels Episcopal Church, 210Church St., Naugatuck. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.
