Obituary of Vida Bristol

Vida A. Bristol, 88 of Wallingford and formerly of Hamden, died Thursday August 23, 2007 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was the widow of Walter Bristol, Jr. Mrs. Bristol was born June 2, 1919 in New Haven the daughter of the late Frederick and May (Keller) Edele. She was a courageous and wonderful woman who will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Bristol is survived by three daughters Donna Carney, Judy Paul and her husband Ronald, Barbara Maturo and her husband Rocco all of Wallingford; a brother Alfred Edele of Hamden; a sister Carrie Higbee of Starke, FL; her grandchildren Jennifer Vanacore and her husband Robert of East Haven, Michael Maturo and his wife Erin of Wallingford, and Joseph Paul and his wife Jennifer of Cheshire; her great grandchildren Colby and Makenna Paul, and Alexis Rose Maturo; her very special niece Cheryl Hurst as well as many other nieces and nephews. She also leaves her pet and good buddy Nico. She is predeceased by her brother and sisters May Brock, Frederick Edele, Lillian Dyson and Stella Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Carey, Dr. Liben, Dr. Guida, Dr. Gobin and the Hospital of St. Raphael nursing staff of SL3 for the wonderful care rendered to Mrs. Bristol. Arrangements A funeral service will be held on Monday August 27, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St. Cheshire. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven.
