Obituary of Rose Campbell
Mrs. Rose Ellen (Chislett) Campbell, 76, of 260 Robin Lane, Cheshire, died Saturday August 25, 2007 at Elim Park Baptist Home after suffering a stroke in the beginning of August. She was the widow of John F. Campbell. Rose was born September 20, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Herbert and Bridget (Pierson) Chislett. She was raised in Brooklyn, NY where she attended elementary and high schools and moved to Cheshire in 1964. She attended W. F. Kaynor Technical School in Waterbury, CT, where she obtained her LPN license in 1979. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Waterbury Hospital, retiring in 1994 after many years of service. She was a member of the Association for Retarded Citizens in Cheshire. She enjoyed bowling, reading, cooking, baking, gardening and traveling. Rose was a communicant of St. Bridgets Church. She leaves her 2 daughters, Lynne F. Campbell of Cheshire, CT and Tracy E. Campbell of Hoboken, NJ; a brother, Herbert W. Chislett Jr., of Franklin, NJ; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Barbara Brugnoli of Sayreville, NJ; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Geraldine Campbell of Malverne, NY and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her son Thomas R. Campbell and her sister-in-law Patricia Callahan-Shea. Funeral services for Rose will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main Street, Cheshire, to St. Bridgets Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, for a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridgets Cemetery.
